Fees

How the fee is set

The fee for legal services follows the Act on the Legal Profession and Decree No. 655/2004 Coll. on attorneys' fees and expenses. The method and the amount are always stated in the legal services agreement.

Methods

Three ways the fee can be set

Which one applies depends on the matter and on the agreement with the client.

  • Tariff fee

Set under Decree No. 655/2004 Coll. from the value of the matter or the number of legal acts. It applies if we do not agree otherwise.

  • Hourly fee

The fee is calculated from the time I spend on the matter. It suits matters where the amount of work may change.

  • Flat fee

One fee is agreed for the whole matter or a part of it. It suits matters where the amount of work is clear in advance.

Circumstances

What influences the fee

When the fee is agreed, these circumstances are taken into account above all.

  • Scope and complexity

A simple transfer contract takes less work than an agreement with several parties, conditions and annexes.

  • Time required

The time needed to assess the documents, negotiate with the parties and communicate with the office is decisive.

  • Number of documents

It matters whether it is one contract, several documents, or also a registry application and other filings.

  • Special circumstances

Enforcement, bankruptcy, inheritance, a minor party or co-ownership call for an individual assessment.

  • Third-party expenses

Administrative fees, signature certification or an expert opinion are paid separately and are not part of the fee.

Questions

Frequently asked questions about the fee

Where do I find the amount of the fee?

The amount is stated in the legal services agreement, which we conclude before work begins. I do not publish amounts on the website.

What if we do not agree on a fee?

If no fee is agreed, it is set under Decree No. 655/2004 Coll. on attorneys' fees and expenses (tariff fee).

What other costs may arise?

Besides the fee, there may be a land registry administrative fee, signature certification or an expert opinion. These are paid to third parties, not to me, and I show them separately.

What if the documents change after I hand over the draft?

If the parties' agreement or the documents change, a revised draft may be needed. I agree the fee for the revision before I start it.
